I wasn't sure about moving back home to Tallahassee.
I spent three years in Chicago! Chicago is one of the best places in the country to learn about urban agriculture and local food systems! How could Tallahassee possibly live up to that?
Tallahassee is not Chicago. Tallahassee is far behind Chicago when it comes to sustainable agriculture, urban agriculture and local food systems. But now I've lived here for almost eight months, and I'm pretty pumped about all the activity I see around me. With this blog, I want to highlight some of the major movers and shakers in this community, and possibly connect ideas to projects, and projects to people. We have a long way to go in creating a local food economy that's healthy for farmers and eaters, but from everything I've seen we are certainly making progress.
